Miniature Desserts

Pastry Chefs from all areas are adding miniature desserts to their menu's.  Why?  It gives their customers choices and smaller serving sizes.  Menu's allow for selections of 2 to 3 miniature desserts.  It is great for couples or families who have different tastes.  Order a miniature carrot cake, cookies, and mousse.  Maybe order the cheesecake, molten cake, and key lime pie.  The options are endless.

The home chef's are also using miniature desserts for parties or any time desserts.  Again, miniature desserts allow for choices and smaller serving sizes.  It is also smarter.  Lets take a NY style cheesecake (yum).  A full 9" size takes up room in the frig and leftovers may last awhile.  Now if you make miniature cheesecakes, storage is easier in the fridge or even freezer.  In the mood for a cheesecake, pop a miniature one out of the fridge and wait for it to thaw.  Good things do come in small packages.  Try a miniature dessert today.

My first dessert cook book will concentrate on miniature dessert recipes.  February's blog will be a miniature lemon meringue and key lime pie's.  Take my survey below and let me know what miniature desserts you would like to see.
